Magnetic Music/Magnetic Book
Magnetic Music/Magnetic Book
Magnetic Book is a book of scores that is composed for flexible performance situations with string orchestras and improvisers.
The scores contain the voices for the string group. plus additional solo voices and accompaniment at certain places. These extra voices can be played by the improvisers or, if possible , by continuo players or soloists in the group.
Typically a normal performance of this music would include, in addition to the scored voices , a lead instrument, a piano or electronic instrument as an additional continuo, plus one or more percussion players, playing hand drums and soft percussions. These players can double voices from the score at choice, or add additional improvised voices on top of existing layers.
One would play each chapter as a suite, with a break before the next . At the end of the score are additional pieces that can be inserted between the chapters, or even before or after the whole sequence.
The pitch should be A=415 hz, although it could also be played at 440.
It is important to state that this material is made for flexibility and that tempi , dynamics and phrasing are subjects for interpretation and adaptation to each situation.
